Using Hoffman's Model, the sources of growth of output, value-added, wage earnings and employment of agrobased industries between 1963-1974 are studied. The sources of growth are attributed to import-substitution, domestic demand expansion and export expansion. It is found that over 1963-1974, import-substitution became negative. The major source of growth was domestic demand expansion. Export expansion plays a lesser though increasingly important role. It is also found that the majority of agrobased industries tend to be capital-intensive.
