A study on the length-weight relationship and condition factor of the cyprinid Hampala macrolepidota (Van Hasselt) was conducted. For matured male fish, the relationship was Log e W = 3.144 Log eL — 11.9034, while for female fish it was Log e W = 3.461 Log L — 13.877. These relationships were found to be different (at 1% level of significance). The condition factors for both the male and female fishes increased during the rainy season which is the breeding season for this fish.
